Responsibilities
Maintenance and repair of traction power substations and LV systems Team leadership, competence development, and safety assurance Switching programmes, isolations, permits, and technical investigations Performance reporting and continuous improvement Support to new system installations and commissioning Participation in the engineering on‑call rota
Qualifications
Strong electrical engineering background (switchgear, HV/LV distribution, plant control systems, industrial power, utilities, defence, or similar). Experience leading technical teams in a safety‑critical environment. High attention to detail and excellent understanding of electrical safety principles. Ability to review technical documentation, RAMS, schematics, and protection arrangements. Level 3 Electrical Engineering qualification. 18th Edition Wiring Regulations. Electrical safe systems of work competence. Ability to achieve Authorised Person (Complex) status within six months (fully funded).
It Would Be Great If You Had
HNC/HND or degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering. PLC/Control systems experience. AP/SAP trained (HV/LV). IOSH/NEBOSH. Rail, traction power, or utility experience.
