Electrical Fitter (Apprenticeship-Trained) Defence ManufacturingLocation: Bolton | Full-Time | OnsiteOur client, a long-standing and respected partner of the UK Ministry of Defence, is seeking an experienced Electrical Fitter to join their established manufacturing team at their Bolton site.This role focuses on electrical assembly, fitting, and test activities within a highly regulated defence manufacturing environment. Youll work to approved drawings and certification standards, contributing to the build and delivery of mission-critical products.Key ResponsibilitiesAssemble and fit electrical components in line with drawings, specifications, and IPC standardsCarry out electrical wiring, soldering, and termination activitiesMaintain ESD, safety, and handling compliance at all timesUse hand tools, jigs, and measuring equipment for assembly and inspectionConduct self-checks and quality inspections to ensure right-first-time buildsComplete product certification, approvals, and manufacturing documentationWork collaboratively with inspection, test, and engineering teamsSupport continuous improvement across manufacturing processesAdhere to defence, aerospace, and export-control requirementsMaintain high standards of safety, housekeeping, and professionalismWhat Youll NeedProven experience in electrical assembly and fitting within a manufacturing environmentKnowledge of IPC-610 and/or IPC-620 standardsESD awareness and safe component handling trainingAbility to perform precision work using magnification where requiredCompetence with hand tools, crimping tools, torque tools, and test equipmentExperience maintaining build records, certification, and quality documentationUnderstanding of inspection processes and engineering drawingsAbility to meet build and test timelines without compromising qualityExperience within defence or aerospace manufacturing is desirable but not essential.Qualifications (Essential)You must hold one of the following pathways:An Advanced / Level 3 Electrical, Mechanical, or Manufacturing ApprenticeshipORA Level 3 academic qualification (ONC, Diploma or equivalent)ANDA Level 3 vocational qualification (NVQ)(NVQ not required where a Level 3 apprenticeship standard has been achieved)Security ClearanceBritish Citizen or Dual UK national with British citizenshipSuccessful candidates will be required to complete BPSS clearance after offer stageAbout the SiteBased at the Bolton facility, one of the North Wests leading defence manufacturing sites, youll benefit from:Onsite canteen, showers, and bike storageConvenient motorway accessLong-term programmes and structured training opportunitiesWhat Happens NextIf your application meets the selection criteria, a member of our talent team will contact you to arrange a structured screening call to explore your skills and experience in more detail.JBRP1_UKTJ
