1st Step Solutions are supporting a M&E Contractor who have an opportunity for a Electrical Estimator on a permanent basis based in Northampton.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n* Prepare accurate and competitive electrical cost estimates for MEP projects ranging from £500k to £20m+\n* Review tender documentation, specifications, drawings, and client requirements\n* Liaise with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and internal teams during pre-construction phases\n* Identify risks, exclusions, and opportunities to add value within the estimating process\n* Attend tender review meetings and provide detailed breakdowns and justifications\n* Build and maintain strong relationships with supply chain partners for accurate pricing and lead times\n* Participate in value engineering exercises and alternative proposals\n* Ensure compliance with current industry regulations, technical standards, and health & safety expectations\n* Contribute to post-tender negotiations and project handovers to delivery teams\n\nSkills & Attributes\n* Excellent attention to detail and numerical accuracy\n* Strong analytical and organisational skills\n* Clear and confident communication (written and verbal)\n* Ability to manage multiple tenders and deadlines simultaneously\nQualifications & Experience\n* Proven experience in electrical estimating within the building services or MEP sector\n* Ideally HNC/HND or degree qualified in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering\n* Experience with estimation software \n* Competent in reading and interpreting electrical design drawings and specifications\n\nFull package available
