Electrical Estimator\n\nPortsmouth \n\nAbout My Client\n\nMy client is a well-established electrical contractor delivering a wide range of services across the commercial, industrial, residential, and education sectors. Their expertise includes full design & build projects, lighting and power installations, fire and security systems, and data infrastructure.\n\nWith a strong reputation for quality, reliability, and technical expertise, they support a diverse client base through both project delivery and ongoing maintenance services.\n\nThe Role\n\nDue to continued growth, my client is seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator to join their team in Portsmouth. This is a key role responsible for preparing accurate and commercially competitive tenders across a range of electrical installation projects.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nPrepare detailed cost estimates for electrical projects, typically ranging from £50k to £2m+\nInterpret drawings, specifications, and tender documentation\nCarry out take-offs and pricing for materials, labour, and subcontractors\nObtain and evaluate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors\nIdentify risks and opportunities, including value engineering options\nWork closely with project managers and senior leadership on bid submissions\nAttend pre- and post-tender meetings where required\n\nRequirements\n\nProven experience as an Electrical Estimator within an electrical contracting environment\nStrong knowledge of commercial and industrial electrical installations\nAbility to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications\nExperience using estimating software such as Trimble, Amtech, or similar\nStrong commercial awareness and cost understanding\nExcellent organisational and communication skills\nRelevant electrical qualifications (City & Guilds, NVQ, HNC or equivalent )\n\nSalary & Package \n\nBasic salary of £50,000 - £70,000 depending on experience\nCompany car or car allowance\nPerformance-related bonus\nPension scheme\n25 days holiday plus bank holidays\nOngoing training and development\nClear progression opportunities into Senior Estimator or Commercial rolesWR HVAC | M&E are #1 recruitment partner for HVAC jobs.
