Electrical Engineer - Renewable Energy Projects\n\n Remote (UK & Ireland travel required)\n\n Up to £650 per day (DOE)\n\n Contract until end of year (high likelihood of extension)\n\nPlay a Key Role in Delivering Large-Scale Renewable Energy Projects\n\nWe're looking for an experienced Electrical Engineer to support the delivery of a diverse portfolio of renewable energy projects across the UK & Ireland. This is a fantastic opportunity to work across solar, wind, BESS, and high-voltage infrastructure, contributing from early-stage development through to construction and handover to operations.\n\nYou'll be joining a highly collaborative engineering environment, playing a key role in ensuring technical excellence across multiple large-scale projects.\n\n What You'll Be Doing\n\nSupporting electrical design and engineering across the full project lifecycle - from development through to construction and handover\nContributing to electrical system design including LV/HV infrastructure, substations, and grid connections\nProducing and reviewing key design deliverables such as single line diagrams, schematics, and layouts\nWorking closely with internal teams, consultants, and contractors to deliver high-quality engineering solutions\nSupporting FEED, detailed design, and construction phases across multiple projects\nParticipating in technical reviews, site visits, FAT/SAT, and commissioning activities where required\nIdentifying and managing technical risks, ensuring safe and efficient project delivery\nContributing to technical specifications, standards, and employer's requirements for tendering \n\n⚡ Project Scope\n\nTechnologies: Solar, Wind, BESS, Substations\nProject sizes: 3-5 MW up to 300 MW\nVoltage levels: 33kV up to 400kV\nLocations: Wales, Scotland, Ireland (wide portfolio) \n\n✅ What We're Looking For\n\nStrong electrical design experience across renewable energy or power infrastructure projects\nExperience covering full project lifecycle (development → construction → handover)\nKnowledge of HV/LV systems, substations, and grid connection requirements\nFamiliarity with industry standards, regulations, and design codes (IEC, Grid Code etc.)\nExperience working with consultants and contractors on engineering delivery\nAbility to produce and review technical documentation and designs\nFull UK driving licence (essential) \n\n Travel Requirements\n\nSite visits: approx. 1x per month\nOffice visits (Durham): 1-2x per month\nOtherwise fully remote \n\n Why Apply?\n\nWork on a broad, high-value renewable portfolio\nExposure to large-scale infrastructure projects up to 300MW / 400kV\nLong-term contract potential with strong extension likelihood\nHigh-impact role within the transition to net zero \n\nIf interested please apply here and we'll be in touch to discuss your application very soon.\n\nRullion celebrates and supports and is committed to ensuring equal opportunities for both employees and applicants
