Electrical Engineer – Permanent

engstaff-in is recruiting on behalf of our client, a leading UK contractor specialising in building, infrastructure, engineering and fit-out projects across both the public and private sectors. The organisation delivers major construction and engineering projects including schools, hospitals, commercial buildings, infrastructure and public sector facilities, providing integrated design, mechanical and electrical engineering solutions from concept through to completion.

Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of work across London and the South East, they are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join their team on a permanent basis.

The Role

As an Electrical Engineer, you will support the design, installation, commissioning and delivery of electrical services on a landmark project in Central London. You will work alongside project managers, design teams and subcontractors to ensure electrical systems are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with project requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Design, coordinate and oversee electrical building services across multiple projects Support the planning, installation and commissioning of electrical systems Ensure compliance with UK electrical regulations and health & safety standards Review technical drawings, specifications and project documentation Liaise with contractors, consultants and project teams to ensure smooth delivery Assist with testing, inspection and handover of completed electrical installations Identify technical issues and provide engineering solutions during project delivery Contribute to cost control, value engineering and programme management

Required Qualifications & Experience

Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering / Building Services Engineering, or Fully qualified Electrician with 18th Edition and ECS Gold Card

Additional desirable qualifications / certifications include:

City & Guilds 2391 or equivalent (Inspection & Testing) HNC / HND in Electrical Engineering or Building Services SMSTS or SSSTS () Member or working towards membership of a professional body (e.g. IET or CIBSE) Knowledge of BS7671 Wiring Regulations and relevant UK standards

Experience Required

Proven experience delivering electrical services on construction or building services projects Experience within education, healthcare, commercial or public sector developments Strong understanding of M&E coordination and building services systems Ability to work on new build and refurbishment projects Experience working with contractors, consultants and project delivery teams
