We are currently recruiting on behalf of a well-established engineering consultancy within the energy sector for an experienced Senior Electrical Designer. This is a hybrid contract role based in Manchester and offers the opportunity for engagement on an outside IR35 basis, subject to determination.

This is an excellent opportunity for a proven electrical designer to support a multidisciplinary team on a range of complex engineering projects. You’ll be joining a collaborative working environment with flexible working arrangements and long-term contract potential.

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver safe, practical, and cost-effective electrical design solutions

Prepare a range of drawing office deliverables, including:

Single Line Diagrams (SLDs)

Cable Schedules

Material Take Offs (MTOs)

Block Cable Diagrams (BCDs)

Schematics and cable/equipment layout drawings

Review and check drawings in accordance with internal quality standards

Coordinate with other disciplines to ensure integrated project delivery

Conduct 3D modelling using tools such as Navisworks and AVEVA E3D

Skills & Experience:

ONC / OND / HNC / HND or equivalent in Electrical Engineering or related field

10+ years’ experience in a similar electrical design role, preferably in the energy or related sectors

Strong knowledge of HV and LV design principles

Proficient in 2D and 3D CAD software (Navisworks / AVEVA E3D experience desirable)

Good working knowledge of relevant UK legislation and standards

Familiarity with site installation and commissioning considerations
