ELECTRICAL BUILDING SERVICES ENGINEER

Qualifications and Experience

British or otherwise have the right to work in the UK

Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering

Experience: minimum 2 years' experience up to senior level working as an Electrical (Building Services) Design Engineer (preferably in the UK)

Strong design skills

Preferential but not essential experience in:

Wiring regulations (BS 7671)

Relevant British Standards

Education, leisure, residential and mixed-use sectors

BREEAM and its implications for M&E design

Revit MEP

Job Description

The engineer will work on projects predominantly in the South-East, from concept/feasibility stage through design, construction, commissioning, and handover, under the guidance of a director.

Skills to be developed include (but are not limited to):

Lighting and cable calculations

Part L compliance checking

Development of detailed designs including equipment selection and specification

Design and specification of renewable technologies

Liaison with utility companies for new and diversion of existing services

Coordination with architects, clients, structural engineers, and contractors

Project management

Site inspections

Package

Salary negotiable based on experience

25 days annual leave (increasing to 30 days after 5 years' service)

Hybrid working - up to 2 days WFH per week (to be agreed with line manager)

Our client is recognised for expertise in low-carbon and renewable technologies and energy-efficient building design. They have contributed technical guidance for organisations and have long-standing partnerships with local authorities and major contractors.

The successful candidate will report directly to a Director and join at an exciting time for the business, with a strong order book and excellent growth opportunities. You'll be encouraged to develop your skills, manage your own projects, and lead a team of engineers, building physicists, and technicians.
