Job Description
Are you an experienced Electrical Design Engineer looking to work on technically complex and high-impact projects? Join our talented Design Team and play a key role in delivering innovative engineering solutions across sectors such as nuclear and pharmaceutical. This is a site based role at Urenco Capenhurst, where you’ll collaborate with multidisciplinary and high performing teams. If you’re passionate about electrical engineering, sustainability, and digital innovation, we’d love to hear from you.
Who We’re Looking For:
Experience in a design environment (site construction)
IT literate, with proficiency in: Trimble ProDesign/Amtech (), Relux/DiaLux, AutoCAD 2D, Revit, Navisworks (), and Microsoft Office
Working knowledge of BS5839 (Fire Alarm Systems) and BS5266 (Emergency Lighting)
Basic understanding of HV equipment, transformers, and LV switchgear assemblies
Capable of producing cable calculations, SLDs, block and GA drawings, specifications, datasheets, registers, cable schedules, BoMs, and containment sizing
CompEx Ex12 certification and knowledge of ATEX/DSEAR regulations ()

What you’ll be doing
Provide technical support to the contracting, commissioning, and facilities services functions, offering practical solutions, troubleshooting assistance, and expert engineering advice.
Review projects to ensure compliance, completeness, and quality standards are met; prepare detailed reports outlining key findings and recommendations.
Attend client and consultant meetings, present review outcomes effectively, and maintain strong, positive relationships with clients, consultants, and project stakeholders.
Mentor and support junior team members, fostering professional growth and learning within a safe and collaborative environment.
Apply engineering expertise to review and cross reference project specifications, drawings, and schedules, identifying discrepancies and assessing technical risks.
