Electrical & Controls Engineer\n\nTeesside\n\nSalary: up to £70,000 DOE\n\nJackson Hogg is delighted to be working with one of the UK’s largest port operators on the appointment of an Electrical & Control Engineer to join their Marine Engineering team.\n\nThis is a permanent, hybrid role based in Teesside.\n\nElectrical & Control Engineer Key Responsibilities:\n\n * \n\n Design & Development: Create electrical control systems, including PLCs, SCADA, and automation hardware/software. Develop functional design specifications.\n\n * \n\n System Integration: Collaborate with multi-disciplinary engineering teams to integrate electrical controls into wider systems.\n\n * \n\n Testing & Commissioning: Perform system testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning of electrical equipment.\n\n * \n\n Maintenance & Optimization: Carry out routine maintenance tasks, ensuring high availability and reliability of control systems while improving efficiency and reducing downtime.\n\n * \n\n Fault Finding & Diagnostics: Diagnose and resolve faults on electrical and control systems, implementing fixes to prevent future occurrences.\n\n * \n\n Compliance: Ensure adherence to electrical & control engineering standards in line with health, safety, and environmental legislation.\n\n * \n\n Documentation: Prepare technical reports, manuals, and system documentation.\n\n * \n\n Project Support: Provide technical input during project planning, execution, and handover.\n\nElectrical & Controls Engineer Key Requirements:\n\n * BEng/MEng in Electrical Engineering, Control Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent industrial experience).\n\n * \n\n Proficiency in PLC programming (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Bachmann, or similar IEC(phone number removed) programming suite).\n\n * \n\n Knowledge of SCADA, HMI systems, AC/DC motor drives (Siemens, ABB).\n\n * \n\n Strong understanding of electrical & control schematics.\n\n * \n\n Familiarity with industrial automation, instrumentation, and industrial communication systems (Profibus, Profinet, RS232, TCP/IP, FO).\n\n * \n\n Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.\n\n * \n\n Excellent communication and teamwork skills.\n\n * \n\n Ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.\n\nIf you are interested in this opportunity please get in touch using the details below
