Job Title: Electrically-biased Contracts Manager\n Location: Exeter (Covering the Southwest)\n\nOverview:\n We are looking for an experienced Electrically-biased Contracts Manager to join a leading organization in the building services sector. Based in Exeter, this role involves managing and overseeing electrical contracts across the Southwest region. As Contracts Manager, you will ensure that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality, while managing client relationships and coordinating teams on-site.\n\nIf you have a strong electrical engineering background and a proven track record in managing contracts within the M&E (Mechanical and Electrical) or construction industry, we want to hear from you.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\n\nProject Management: Oversee the delivery of electrical contracts, ensuring they are completed on schedule, within budget, and meet the specified quality standards.\n\nClient Liaison: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring their requirements are met and that projects run smoothly.
Regularly provide progress reports and address any concerns or issues.\n\nTeam Leadership: Lead and coordinate teams of electrical engineers, subcontractors, and site staff to ensure safe and efficient project delivery.\n\nContract Administration: Handle all aspects of contract documentation, including schedules, budgets, progress reports, and cost control. Ensure full compliance with contract terms and obligations.\n\nRisk Management: Proactively identify potential risks and challenges and implement strategies to mitigate them, ensuring successful project outcomes.\n\nHealth & Safety: Uphold a strong health and safety culture on-site, ensuring that all regulations are strictly adhered to.\n\nFinancial Control: Monitor and control project costs, ensuring that projects remain profitable and are delivered within budget.\n\nTechnical Support: Provide technical guidance and support for electrical systems, installations, and design specifications where necessary.\n\nKey Requirements:\n\nProven experience as a Contracts Manager with an electrical bias, ideally within the M&E or construction sectors.\n\nStrong knowledge of electrical systems, installations, and regulations.\n\nExcellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.\n\nStrong financial understanding, including budgeting, cost control, and forecasting.\n\nLeadership experience with the ability to motivate and manage teams effectively.\n\nExcellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to liaise with clients, suppliers, and internal teams.\n\nStrong understanding of health and safety regulations, particularly in electrical installation and construction environments.\n\nRelevant qualifications in Electrical Engineering or related field (e.g., HNC/HND, Degree) are highly desirable.\n\nFull UK driving license, as travel will be required across the Southwest.\n\nWhy Join Us?\n\nThis is an excellent opportunity to work with a well-established and forward-thinking company that offers a competitive salary, a comprehensive benefits package, and real career progression opportunities.
