Major Recruitment are recruiting for a disciplined and detail-oriented Electrical Assembly Technician to join a specialist team in Birmingham.
Location: Birmingham (B18) Pay Rate: £14.50 - £15.00 per hour Working Hours: 08:00 - 17:00, Monday to Friday
You will be responsible for building, wiring, and testing the "brains" behind automated gate systems, barriers, and high-end access control.
The Core Mission
Precision Assembly: Build and wire control panels for automated gates and entry systems from the ground up. Component Integration: Correctly wire motor controllers, safety edges, photocells, loop detectors, and GSM intercoms. Technical Interpretation: Translate complex electrical schematics and layout drawings into functional, high-quality assemblies. Functional Testing: Rigorous testing of motor direction, limit switching, and safety circuits to ensure 100% reliability before dispatch. Diagnostics: Identify and rectify faults during the assembly phaseWhat You Must Bring
Proven Experience: A solid background in electrical assembly or panel building. Technical Literacy: You must be able to read and interpret wiring diagrams without hand-holding. Tool Proficiency: Expert use of hand tools, crimpers, and cable prep equipment.
