Hours of work are 6am to 2pm Monday to Friday alternating weekly\n\nJob Purpose:\n\nTo ensure the continuous and effective operation of all electrical and mechanical systems, cranes, and steel processing equipment on-site through proactive maintenance, swift repairs, and coordination of subcontract services. The role includes the creation and management of maintenance schedules, permits to work, and ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\n\nPerform planned and reactive maintenance on all mechanical and electrical equipment, including:\n\nOverhead cranes\nConveyors\nCutting, shearing, and processing machinery\nHVAC, compressors, and general site services\nDiagnose faults and conduct repairs or modifications as necessary.\nDevelop and maintain preventative maintenance schedules and records for all plant equipment.\nConduct inspections and audits to ensure equipment is compliant with statutory regulations and company standards.\nLiaise with external contractors for specialist maintenance, repairs, and inspections, ensuring all safety protocols and documentation are in place.\nMaintain appropriate levels of spare parts and maintenance tools.\nMaintain detailed maintenance logs and documentation for compliance and audit purposes.\nSupport site projects and improvements from a maintenance perspective.\nAssist in training operators on basic maintenance and safety procedures.\nEnsure all tasks are performed in compliance with health & safety regulations and company policies.Key Skills and Competencies:\n\nStrong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.\nAbility to read and interpret technical drawings, manuals, and schematics.\nExcellent organisational and time management abilities.\nGood interpersonal and communication skills.\nSelf-motivated and able to work independently or as part of a team.\nCompetence in using CMMS (Computerised Maintenance Management System) software is desirable.The company and benefits:\n\nAs well as a competitive salary we also offer an attractive benefits package which include:\n\nHealth Assured Employee Assistance Programme\nLifetime Financial Wellbeing\nLease Cars by Salary Sacrifice\nContributory Pension\nLong Service Awards\nDiscount cards for shops and restaurants\nGym & Health Club discounts\nCycle to Work Scheme\nMedicash ProgrammeAdditional Information \n\nDue to the safety-critical nature of our operations, pre-employment, random, and incident-related drug and alcohol testing is conducted.
