A well-run secondary school in Braintree is looking to appoint an English Teacher (ECT) to join their department. This role is ideal for an Early Career Teacher seeking a supportive environment, strong mentoring, and clear behaviour systems.

You will be teaching English across KS3 and KS4, following established schemes of work with room to develop your own teaching style. The department is stable, collaborative, and well supported by senior leadership.

The role:

Teaching English Language and Literature at KS3 & KS4

Planning engaging, well-structured lessons

Assessing pupil progress and supporting attainment

Maintaining consistent behaviour standards

Working closely with an experienced English team

The school is looking for:

A qualified English Teacher (QTS or on track)

An ECT eager to develop classroom confidence

Strong subject knowledge and communication skills

A calm, organised, and reflective teaching approach
