Ecologist
Location: Flexible
Full-Time
Reports to: Ecology Manager
Our client is seeking an experienced and self-motivated Ecologist to provide expert ecological advice and lead projects with a strong emphasis on woodland management and harvesting. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the Company's environmental standards, managing survey programmes, and delivering ecological solutions across a variety of projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver ecological services aligned with client needs and company objectives.
- Undertake and manage surveys for habitats, protected species, birds, and reptiles.
- Analyse survey data and prepare high-quality technical reports including PEAs, EcIAs, and HRAs.
- Manage protected species licence applications and ensure compliance with legislation.
- Provide expert advice to internal teams and external clients on ecological issues and best practices.
- Support the management and development of the Ecology business stream and Environmental Management System.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Degree in ecology, environmental science, or related field.
- CIEEM membership and CSCS card required.
- Holder of protected species licences (e.g., bats, GCNs).
- Proven experience in ecological project management and Ecological Clerk of Works (ECoW).
- Excellent communication, client management, and reporting skills.
- Proficiency in QGIS, Office 365, and ecological apps.ull UK driving licence and willingness to travel.
