Job Description

A global client of mine is looking for an experienced EC&I Engineer to join a top‑tier COMAH chemical site, providing technical leadership across electrical, control and instrumentation systems.

In this role, you’ll support plant reliability, deliver EC&I projects, ensure regulatory compliance, and act as a key technical partner across Operations, Maintenance and HSE.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support EC&I projects from design to commissioning
• Provide expert troubleshooting across PLCs, DCS, instrumentation and electrical systems
• Ensure compliance with COMAH, ATEX, DSEAR & functional safety standards
• Drive reliability improvements and RCA activities
• Maintain technical documentation and support site change control
• Work with contractors, internal teams and regulatory bodies

Requirements

• Degree in Electrical / Control & Instrumentation Engineering or similar
• Experience in chemical, petrochemical or heavy industrial environments
• Strong knowledge of PLC/DCS, instrumentation, electrical distribution & BS7671
• Understanding of SIL, ATEX, DSEAR and COMAH requirements
• Confident communicator with solid project delivery experience
