EC&I Design Engineer Process Control £48-55k + Hybrid Working

Samuel Frank is recruiting for an EC&I Design Engineer to join a well-established, growing engineering business operating within process-led industries. The role is predominantly office-based with very limited site work and would suit an EC&I Design Engineer who enjoys structured, collaborative working in a fast-paced environment.

Key aspects of the EC&I Design Engineer role include -

  • EC&I Design Engineer will be responsible for electrical, control and instrumentation design across a range of process-based projects
  • EC&I Design Engineer will produce key documentation including FDS, P&IDs and contribute to FAT/SAT activities
  • Very limited site work, with most of the role focused on design and development in-house
  • Strong emphasis on collaborative working shared standards, consistent design approaches and continuous improvement across the team
  • EC&I Design Engineer will contribute to standardisation and modular design frameworks across the product range
  • Involvement in value engineering activities to improve efficiency, reduce cost and enhance system performance
  • Fast-paced environment with multiple projects running simultaneously
  • Process control environments such as water treatment, chemical or food & beverage, pharmaceutical, nuclear or oil & gas environments

Requirements for the EC&I Design Engineer role -

  • Experience in EC&I design within an industrial or process environment
  • Strong understanding of hazardous area compliance ATEX experience is essential
  • Knowledge of UL directives would be advantageous
  • Ability to produce and interpret electrical schematics, P&IDs and technical documentation
  • Experience contributing to functional design specifications and system design
  • Comfortable working in a collaborative, structured engineering team
