Dual Registered Manager – Children’s Homes (EBD / Trauma-Informed)

Location: Haverhill, CB9

Salary: £60,000 base + up to £15,600 in bonuses

Contract: Full-time, Permanent

Annual Leave: 32 days (including bank holidays), increasing annually for the first 3 years

On-Call: Included in salary and shared across leadership team (minimal)

About the Role

This is a rare and exciting opportunity to step into a Dual Registered Manager position, leading two 4-bed children’s homes in Haverhill — one brand new, the other already registered and preparing for its first Ofsted visit. Both services support young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD) and operate with a trauma-informed, child-centred approach.

As Dual Registered Manager, you'll play a pivotal role in embedding positive cultures, ensuring compliance, and delivering exceptional care across both homes. You'll have the opportunity to shape a new service from scratch, while also taking an established team into its next chapter.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Lead and manage two 4-bed homes, overseeing all aspects of care, compliance, and staff performance
  • Drive a culture of safety, stability, and emotional support for children with complex trauma and EBD
  • Ensure both homes meet or exceed regulatory standards, especially with Ofsted inspections approaching
  • Oversee referrals, placements, safeguarding, audits, and quality assurance
  • Inspire, develop, and support two dedicated staff teams, ensuring high standards of supervision and training
  • Work closely with Deputy Managers to delegate and share responsibilities effectively
  • Represent the organisation professionally with external partners, commissioners, and families
  • Take responsibility for budgets, occupancy, rota planning, and overall home performance

What You’ll Need

  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management (Children & Young People) or equivalent (or be working towards it)
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in residential children’s care, including staff supervision and management
  • Strong working knowledge of safeguarding legislation and Ofsted inspection frameworks
  • The ability to lead by example, create strong team dynamics, and maintain a calm, consistent presence
  • Confidence in handling multi-site management, particularly during periods of registration or inspection
  • A full UK driving licence

Bonuses & Benefits

  • Up to £6,000 in Ofsted bonuses:
  • • £3,000 per home for ‘Outstanding’
  • • £1,500 per home for ‘Good’
  • Occupancy Bonus: £400/month per home (up to £800/month when both are full)
  • Company Car or £3,000 travel allowance
  • 32 days’ holiday (including bank holidays), rising annually for the first 3 years
  • On-call duties shared and minimal
  • Supportive senior leadership, high-quality training, and opportunities for progression within a large, national provider

This opportunity is with a well-established national provider committed to delivering trauma-informed care and improving outcomes for vulnerable children. With a growing portfolio of homes and an ambitious vision for quality, this organisation provides the structure, support, and resources you need to thrive in a demanding but highly rewarding leadership role.
