Senior Design Engineer - Education Building & Developments (Drainage and Water)Location: Can be home-based with travel to local office networks. \nYour New CompanyA leading organisation in the construction and infrastructure sector is seeking a Senior Design Engineer to join their School Building & Developments team. This is an exciting opportunity to deliver sustainable drainage and water management solutions for high-profile school building projects.\nYour New RoleAs Senior Design Engineer, you will:\n\nDesign and deliver surface and foul water drainage systems for buildings and developments such as schools.\nProduce external works plans and 3D models, ensuring accuracy and compliance with standards and sustainable design practices.\nReview and lead technically challenging drainage and water designs, including calculations, drawings, specifications, and reports.\nCoordinate multi-disciplinary designs, resolving integration and constructability issues.\nConduct site visits and inspections to inform design and resolve technical challenges.\nSupport estimates, programmes, and budgets, monitoring project delivery and managing risks.\nEssential:\n\nDegree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent experience)\nExperience / knowledge of Drainage Design on School / Education building projects\nCSCS card\nFull UK Driving LicenceDesirable:\n\nChartered or Incorporated Engineer (CEng/IEng)\nProven experience in water, drainage, and SuDS design for building projects ideally with experience of DfE / Education builds\nFamiliarity with CIRIA C753 SuDS Manual, sewer adoption processes, and flood risk assessments\nKnowledge of CDM Regulations, Building Regulations, and Building Safety Act\nProject management training (e.g., APM, PRINCE2)\nSMSTS or NEBOSH certificationWhat you need to do now \nIf you're interested in this role, click 'apply now' to forward an up-to-date copy of your CV, or call us now.\nIf this job isn't quite right for you, but you are looking for a new position, please contact us for a confidential discussion about your career.\n\nHays Specialist Recruitment Limited acts as an employment agency for permanent recruitment and employment business for the supply of temporary workers.
