A Domiciliary Care worker works as part of a team providing personal, domestic and social care at home to vulnerable individuals (including frail elderly, those with physical and learning disabilities and mental health) and their carers. The various tasks to be performed by the domiciliary care worker may cover all or some of the following according to the individual needs of the client assessed by the appropriate professionals. Key Responsibilities Personal Care as specified on the care plan for the service user. This includes assisting service users with all aspects of personal hygiene i.e. washing, shaving, showering etc. Assist service users with toileting, dressing/undressing and feeding Assist service users with mobility and transfer using correctly any specialised equipment provided. Administer prescribed medication, only as directed by a qualified medical practitioner under the direction of a supervisor Assist service users with therapeutic programmes as directed by relevant professionals Domestic Care when directed, maintain cleanliness of Service users home to ensure a safe environment set out in the health and safety requirements.
