Domestic Gas Engineer – Dorset

We’re looking for a *Domestic Gas Engineer* to join the growing maintenance team at Cosgrove & Drew Engineering, working across *Dorset and surrounding areas*.
This role focuses mainly on *domestic servicing, repairs, and reactive maintenance*, with a mix of *plumbing call-outs and general mechanical works*.
For engineers who want to develop further, there are *clear opportunities to progress into commercial gas and building services*, supported through training and on-the-job experience.
Cosgrove & Drew has grown significantly in recent years, winning contracts across the *public sector, hospitality, retail, and social housing* sectors. Our focus is simple: maintain buildings safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
You’ll be supported by our *Help Desk team*, who manage scheduling and client communication, allowing you to focus on delivering quality work on site.
Role Overview
Permanent, full-time – *42.5 hours per week*
Typical work includes:
* Domestic boiler servicing, repairs, and diagnostics * Gas safety inspections and landlord certification * Reactive breakdown work * Plumbing call-outs including leaks, valves, pipework, and sanitaryware * Minor mechanical works where required * Supporting the wider engineering team when needed * Completing job reports and compliance documentation electronically
Optional overtime is available, along with participation in the *on-call rota (approx. 1 in 6 weeks).*
Required Skills & Qualifications
Essential:
* Domestic Gas ACS qualifications (CCN1, CENWAT, etc.) * Experience servicing and repairing domestic boilers and gas appliances * Full UK driving licence
Desirable:
* LPG * Unvented Hot Water (G3) * Plumbing experience * Interest in developing commercial gas skills
Area of Work
Primarily *Dorset and surrounding areas*, with occasional travel where required.
Person Specification
We’re looking for engineers who:
* Take pride in delivering quality work * Can diagnose problems efficiently * Communicate clearly with customers and the office team * Are organised and reliable * Work well independently but as part of a wider team * Maintain a strong safety mindset
A *DBS check will be required* (arranged by us).
