Job Title: Domestic Abuse Advocate\n Location: Sandwell (travel required)\n Salary: £24,761.88 - £26,872.22\n Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm\n Contract: Permanent\n\nOccupational Requirement: This post is restricted to female applicants under Schedule 9 (Part 1) of the Equality Act 2010.\n\nAbout the Role\n\nWe are recruiting a compassionate and committed Domestic Abuse Advocate to provide frontline, trauma-informed support to victims of domestic violence and abuse assessed as standard to medium risk.\n\nYou will manage a caseload and deliver high-quality casework, advocacy, and emotional support, empowering survivors to increase their safety, understand the dynamics of abuse, and regain control of their lives. The role involves close partnership working within a multi-agency framework, including safeguarding children and adults.\n\nThis is a fully office-based role with some off-site working as required. \n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nProvide one-to-one support, advocacy, advice and safety planning for victims of domestic abuse\n\nCarry out risk and needs assessments using recognised tools\n\nManage a caseload, ensuring accurate and timely case recording\n\nWork collaboratively with partner agencies and contribute to multi-agency meetings\n\nRefer and work jointly with specialist services, including IDVAs, where risk escalates\n\nSupport clients through criminal and civil court processes when required\n\nFacilitate group work sessions (face-to-face and online)\n\nPromote awareness of healthy and unhealthy relationships\n\nMaintain a strong focus on safeguarding, empowerment and survivor-led practice\n\nAbout You\n\nYou will be empathetic, resilient and highly organised, with a strong commitment to challenging domestic abuse and supporting survivors.\n\nEssential requirements include:\n\nA minimum Level 3 qualification in a relevant field\n\nExperience supporting vulnerable adults and/or children\n\nProfessional experience working with victims of domestic abuse\n\nExperience managing complex caseloads and risk\n\nStrong communication, advocacy and report-writing skills\n\nAbility to work independently and within a multi-disciplinary team\n\nFull UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential \n\nExperience of group work, multi-agency working, safeguarding, trauma-informed practice and motivational interviewing is highly desirable
