Elvet Recruitment are seeking a Document Controller to join a client based in the Teesside region.
In this role, you will be responsible for organising, maintaining, and safeguarding documentation within the Technical Planning function. Duties include reviewing, scanning, archiving, and overseeing document numbering, filing, and retrieval processes to ensure records remain accurate, well-structured, and secure.
You’ll collaborate with Engineering and Planning teams to support compliance standards, maintain accuracy, and enable smooth document handling.
What You’ll Be Doing:
* Handle receipt, checking, and secure storage of documentation.
* Oversee the circulation and tracking of documents within the department.
* File and archive records appropriately, recognising which materials must be retained.
* Maintain confidentiality and safeguard sensitive information.
* Coordinate with planning staff and, when required, external contacts to share documentation.
* Work alongside Engineers to verify accuracy and request updates where necessary.
* Support planning engineers with managing work packages and maintaining the associated register, ensuring its relevance at point of release.
* Become familiar with data taken from technical logs and defect records.
* Enter information into IT systems for various stakeholders.
* Generate reports using internal tracking systems to support both customers and management.
* Ensure document handling processes meet compliance obligations.
* Contribute to safety culture through hazard reporting, continuous improvement, and attention to Human Factors.
