The Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Divisional Commercial Manager to lead the commercial function across a large and varied social housing portfolio. This is a senior leadership role with responsibility for multiple planned works, high-rise refurbishment, and decarbonisation / net zero retrofit contracts.
The role requires a commercially driven professional who is already operating at Divisional level (or equivalent) and has proven experience managing complex programmes, large teams, and multi-million-pound portfolios. You will be accountable for driving commercial performance, governance, and strategic growth across both long- and short-term contracts, while working closely with operational and client teams.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and deliver the commercial strategy across a portfolio of social housing contracts. Full ownership of P&L, forecasting, valuations, cost control, and financial reporting. Manage up to 20 live projects concurrently across multiple workstreams. Line manage 4 direct reports, with responsibility for 25–30 indirect reports. Ensure contracts are delivered on time, within budget, and in line with commercial and contractual requirements. Support contract mobilisation, implementation, and ongoing performance improvement. Work collaboratively with operational teams to maximise contract performance and client satisfaction. Drive continuous improvement, innovation, and value engineering initiatives. Identify and support commercial growth opportunities across the portfolio. Maintain strong governance, compliance, and risk management processes.

Essential Requirements
Must have extensive experience in social housing planned works. Currently operating as a Divisional Commercial Manager or in a similar senior commercial leadership role. Proven experience managing large commercial teams and multiple contracts/projects. Strong commercial and financial acumen with a track record of delivering profitable outcomes. Experience working across varied contract types and values. Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills. Comfortable operating across a wide geographical region.
