District Nursing Team Manager for Whittington Health NHS Trust. Lead a district nursing service in Islington and Haringey, providing high quality care to housebound patients aged 18+ and ensuring effective teamwork and care coordination.
Responsibilities
Deliver effective and efficient nursing care to patients within the District Nursing service, upholding the NMG Code of Conduct.
Implement and deliver district nursing service and emergency plans as required by the lead district nurse/service manager.
Participate in working parties, committees, planning and discussion groups to develop nursing team and community health services.
Lead clinical audit work in line with clinical governance.
Maintain accurate staff records, conduct regular appraisals, one‑to‑one meetings, and develop staff professional development plans.
Ensure all staff receive clinical supervision, monitoring it at monthly 1:1 meetings.
Teach and supervise clinical practice of team members, identifying training needs of directly managed staff.
Person specification – Education / Qualifications
Registered Nurse (RGN 1st Level Registration).
District Nursing specialist practitioner qualification.
Community Practitioner Prescriber.
Independent nurse prescriber or willingness to undertake the course.
Advanced physical assessment course or willingness to undertake.
Evidence of recent training and development.
Up‑to‑date PREP portfolio.
