Location: Birchington (you will need your own transport due to location and working hours)
Salary: Competitive
Hours: Monday to Friday 6am - 3pm
The role:
The Distribution Shift Manager will assist in the management of activities within the in loading and out loading areas, to ensure business performance and objectives are achieved.

Company eventsKey responsibilities as the Distribution Shift Manager would be to:
Support the Logistics & Operations Manager in leading and aspiring Section Leaders and Multi-Skilled Operatives.
Plan, coordinate and monitor orders, assembly and dispatch of produce.
Lead by example in working towards H&S targets including but not limited to accident and near miss reporting, corrective actions and closing out of non-conformances.
Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures and customer standards.
Contribute and drive continuous improvement initiatives across the business.
Achieve KPI targets set across the department/business.
Ensure the correct use of mechanical handling equipment.
Ensure quality performance, customer compliance and budget targets are achieved.
Work closely with Planning and Production teams to effective communication.
Ensure the maintenance of computerised systems and provide training where required.
Manage the distribution area to monitor space availability, condition of equipment and general tidiness.
Provide input into strategy and decision making for effective contribution to the overall running of the business.
Service production lines with trays and pallets as required.
Provide cover for the Logistics & Operations Manager during periods of absence.Experience and skills required:
Experience within a distribution business that serves multiple retailers.
Strong knowledge of legal requirements when operating within a warehouse.
People management skills, being able to lead from the front, lead, motivate and inspire.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Computer literate, specifically with database maintenance and Microsoft Excel.
The ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
Experience operating a PPT or forklift.Next steps:
