As a Regional Distribution Centre Manager you will be accountable for the overall performance and success of the Distribution Centre and multiple sites within the network. This is a regional role covering both Knaresborough and Newcastle. You will be working Monday to Friday (37.5 hours a week) and will be paid £58,579.00 per annum.

Purpose of the role To be responsible for the overall performance and success of the Distribution Centre and, where applicable, may hold responsibility for the performance of multiple sites within the network. Ensuring the effective delivery and collection of customer products within the assigned geographical area, while consistently achieving agreed KPIs and Service Level Agreements (SLAs). How you’ll make an impact as a Distribution Centre Manager at Movianto:
Operational Leadership Create and maintain a best-in-class operational environment Promote and maintain Health & Safety culture Ensure compliance with transport legislation, operating within DVSA requirements and Operator Licence obligations. Ensure depot operations comply with MHRA regulatory requirements and product handling guidelines. Ensure the safe transportation and delivery of all products.
Customer & Client Management
Foster a customer-first culture across the depot. Work collaboratively with Key Account Managers to monitor service levels Conduct regular client engagement and site visits Support the onboarding Work closely with commercial, IT, client services and finance teams Hold full Profit & Loss accountability for the site. Ensure efficient utilisation and management of transport vehicles and depot resources. Develop, review and deliver site budgets, targets and operational plans. Manage supplier relationships in accordance with agreed Service Level Agreements. Contribute to the identification and delivery of new business opportunities within the region.
Leadership & People Management
Lead, motivate and develop high-performing teams across the Business Unit. Ensure all employees complete required training and development programmes. Manage all HR responsibilities for direct reports, including recruitment, training, performance management, disciplinary processes and workplace Health & Safety. Conduct regular performance reviews and 1:1 meetings with team members.Ensure accountability within the depot team. Manage workforce planning including permanent and agency staffing requirements. Foster culture where teammates feel valued, respected and able to contribute ideas. Continuously review operational processes - KPIs to drive improvements in service quality and efficiency. Lead improvement cost-effective operational solutions. Implement best practice across the network. Work collaboratively with IT and Solutions teams to automate processes
Experience
Proven logistics and distribution management experience. Demonstrated track record of improving operational performance, cost efficiency and team development. Experience managing operational budgets, targets and KPIs. Experience managing multi-temperature transport operations. Strong commercial awareness and understanding of cost models and profitability. Experience working in highly regulated environments, ideally within medical or pharmaceutical logistics (desirable).
Skills
Financially astute with the ability to interpret and manage operational budgets and financial performance. Strong leadership and team development capability. Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills. problem-solving and ability to prioritise workload and perform effectively under pressure.
What it will take to thrive as a Distribution Centre Manager at Movianto:
CPC National and International qualification desirable (or willingness to obtain). Knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and Transport Management Systems (TMS). Computer literate with working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Continuous Improvement knowledge such as Lean or Six Sigma desirable.
