Discrete Event Simulation (DES) LeadCertain Advantage are hiring for a Discrete Event Simulation (DES) Lead based in Liverpool.This role is offered on an initial contract running through to early January 2027.This role is ideal for a senior simulation professional with extensive experience in production systems and process flow modelling, able to lead discrete event simulation (DES) activities from early concept stages through to production launch and ongoing optimisation.Your Responsibilities:Ensure models meet defined design scope, operating principles, and performance metricsDrive system optimisation, identifying cost avoidance opportunities and capturing best practices for wider deploymentApply strong product and process knowledge to ensure potential design and operational constraints are consideredCoordinate and lead the communication of DES outputs through project reviews, design reviews, and dashboardsLead optimisation studies across different system derivatives, mixes, and operational parametersConduct bottleneck analysis and develop mitigation or removal strategiesEnsure DES activities align with build sequencing and order-of-build rulesContribute to the ongoing development of DES tools, techniques, and modelling standards to improve capability and robustnessThe individual: Working knowledge and experience of Discrete Event Simulation toolsetPrevious experience in using Lanner Witness or Siemens Technomatix Plant Simulation toolsetPrevious experience and background in production process flow simulation, problem solving on complex technical systems.Previous experience of bottleneck analysis using Discrete Event Simulation.Previous experience of delivering Discrete Event Simulation to programme KPIs and targetsExperience in production sitesRelevant degree or equivalent experience preferredA good communicator who can communicate complex ideasA effective team player, actively leads, develops and supports team membersDoes this sound like your next career move?
