Base pay range Direct message the job poster from James Chase An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Director of Project Delivery to lead a portfolio of high-value, business-critical projects within a complex and fast-moving organisation. This senior leadership role reports directly to the COO and plays a key part in shaping strategy, strengthening governance, and ensuring the successful delivery of strategic and operational programmes. The Role You’ll have end-to-end responsibility for project delivery, providing oversight, direction, and leadership across multiple cross-functional teams and external partners. You’ll ensure projects are prioritised effectively, delivered on time and within budget, and aligned to organisational objectives. Key Responsibilities
Lead governance and oversight of the project portfolio Monitor progress, manage risk, and resolve delivery issues Prioritise projects based on impact, risk, and resources Act as the senior link between executive leadership and delivery teams Own contractor and vendor relationships, ensuring performance and compliance Oversee capital project budgets (£5m+) and robust reporting frameworks Drive continuous improvement across project delivery processes
About You
6+ years’ experience in senior project or programme delivery roles Experience in infrastructure, transport, maritime, public sector, or similar environments preferred Proven leadership of large capital budgets and external partners Skilled in PRINCE2, MSP, Agile, or equivalent methodologies Strategic, commercially minded, and calm under pressure
