Director of Software Engineering - Credit Real-time Risk

You will be leading an agile team that works towards the strategic Risk and P&L stack for Credit business by developing and leveraging components which bring multiple lines of business across Markets to a consistent architecture. You will be driving development of software components for the firm's state-of-the-art technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. The target state will have multiple technical stacks and teams converge into one, and in the process, the leadership for both the new architecture and support for the business on existing stack will have to be strengthened.
Responsibilities:
- Lead technology and process implementations to achieve functional technology objectives.
- Make decisions influencing teams' resources, budgets, and operational processes.
- Ensure governance over coding decisions, control obligations, and success metrics like cost of ownership and maintainability.
- Deliver scalable technical solutions across multiple businesses and domains.
- Influence peer leaders and senior stakeholders across business, product, and technology teams.
- Champion the firm's culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect.
- Lead the development of risk management systems for real-time and end-of-day needs for Bond and Credit Derivatives products.
- Develop innovative software solutions for scalable front-office risk management services.
- Design and develop systems considering upstream and downstream implications.
- Apply problem-solving skills, creativity, and pragmatic thinking to translate demands into technical requirements.
- Learn and apply system processes, methodologies, and skills for secure, stable systems development.
Qualifications:
- Formal training or certification in software engineering with expert experience in front-office technology.
- Experience leading cross-functional teams of technologists.
- Experience in hiring, developing, and recognizing talent.
- Practical cloud-native experience.
- Hands-on experience in system design, application development, and operational stability.
- Understanding of Credit or similar financial markets products.
- Expertise in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related fields.
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with modern low-latency technologies.
