Major UK Infrastructure Programme | Senior Engineering Leadership

Location: London / Bristol / Manchester

Recruiting for a major UK infrastructure programme in the appointment of an Engineering Director to lead programme wide engineering delivery.

Reporting to the Chief Technical Officer this role sits at the heart of the programme and is accountable for ensuring engineering design is safe, mature, governed and ready to support large‑scale construction in a complex and regulated environment.

This is a Senior Engineering Leadership role, focussing on direction, decision‑making and control. Its not detailed design and not IT, software or digital engineering.

Key focus areas:

• Programme‑wide engineering leadership across multiple disciplines
• Design governance, assurance and configuration management
• Ensuring design maturity, replication and readiness for construction
• Senior escalation point for complex technical and cross‑programme issues
• Principal Designer (CDM) responsibility for engineering scope

About you:

• Senior engineering leader from major infrastructure or megaprojects
• Experience in regulated or safety‑critical environments
• Strong background in design authority, assurance and technical governance
• Comfortable operating at executive and programme leadership level
• Chartered Engineer (or equivalent)
