Role Digital Account Director Location London, England, United Kingdom Hybrid Working Office based 3 days a week (Agency office in Farringdon and Client office in Canary Wharf) Overview We are looking for an experienced Digital Account Director to work closely with two clients in the banking and professional services sectors. For our banking client the Digital Account Director leads the team to create powerful and impactful digital experiences across the website, including AI tools and search on site. The role delivers an exceptional level of creative and strategic thinking as well as client service and has an active role in new business opportunities to lead growth and ensure smooth running of each development project end to end, from scoping to final release. For our professional services client, in 2025 we built and delivered a new best‑in‑class website showcasing their new brand and consolidating multiple sites into one hosted on Umbraco. The role involves working collaboratively with the client and the Development team to prioritise, manage and deliver UI/UX modifications and enhancements and to share recommendations and best‑practice suggestions. The Digital Account Director develops and builds strong relationships with clients at a senior level, becoming a trusted advisor to client teams. They will be responsible for managing the team shape, ensuring the right experts are in place for the client requirements and reporting to the Business Director on each client. The Digital Account Director oversees a team of three developers and other experts including project managers, data analysts, designers and experience planners. There will also be opportunities to support overarching account teams on AI projects from time to time, in particular AI‑enabled builds. What Is Required
Work in true collaboration with clients and partner agencies and be responsible for quality delivery of technical projects to ensure a positive client experience. Take overall financial control of accounts, including profitability, forecasting accuracy, late payment and fee negotiation, providing regular reports to the client. Own the execution of projects, run rates and client satisfaction through catch‑ups with Technical Delivery Manager during the weekly account/project management WIP. Collaborate with department heads on approach, scoping and estimating for projects and own overarching project plans and timelines. Ensure clear communication with the client on technical projects, drive agendas and deliver agreed timings. Identify risks and adopt a solution‑based approach to challenges. Work with the Resource Manager to allocate and manage resources for upcoming projects. Accountable for delivery of growth targets for the account. Escalate if the client or internal SLAs and processes are not adhered to, or where gaps exist, and work with the BD or relevant department lead to rectify. Negotiate win‑win compromises with clients on behalf of your team where needed. Identify new business opportunities through relationships and introduce BrandTech capabilities when appropriate. Work in a team of 7–10. No direct reports. Work across website products and digital services. Financial responsibility of up to £1–2m.
What Good Looks Like
Excellent client engagement skills and ability to organise and influence clients and build strong relationships. Strong account leadership, commercial acumen, creative judgment, strategic thinking, talent management and business growth. Proven track record of commercial growth across new and existing business. Excellent presentation and communication skills. Strong knowledge and experience with website builds. Comfortable with the agile process. Clear understanding and utilisation of all BrandTech Group products to the account's advantage. Ability to integrate with a client‑side team while maintaining top‑tier agency service. Highly creative and able to generate ideas and contribute to studio output. Proficient in Microsoft Office and related software.
Essentials
Experience in a regulated sector. Experience working with website products such as Umbraco CMS. 5+ years of relevant experience in Digital, Web Design and UX‑UI. Experience in AI preferable; interest or passion for AI required.
