Die Maintenance Technician Location: Washington, Tyne and Wear
Department: Tooling
Shift: 3-shift rotation
Reports to: Tool Room Supervisor
Role Summary Responsible for maintaining, repairing, and optimising injection moulding tools to ensure production efficiency and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on tooling.
Diagnose faults and implement long-term corrective actions.
Collaborate with production, engineering, and quality teams.
Perform welding and fabrication (MIG, TIG, ARC).
Manage workload effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Mentor apprentices and share technical knowledge.
Work independently during solo shifts, making critical decisions.
Skills & Experience Essential:
Proven tooling maintenance experience (injection moulding preferred).
Strong fault-finding and problem-solving ability.
Knowledge of hot runner/manifold systems.
Skilled in tool finishing and bedding.
Desirable:
Welding (MIG, TIG, Micro TIG, ARC).
Precision machining, grinding, polishing.
Awareness of PUWER and safe lifting practices.
Additional Requirements Ability to work under pressure with attention to detail.
Strong teamwork and communication skills.
Willingness to travel internationally at short notice.
Flexibility for overtime when required.
