DevOps Engineer (AWS) - Bristol - £55,000-£75,000 per year DOE - Site based role


Great opportunity to join an award winning AI Consultancy who have just received major funding. Funding that will support the growth and expansion of their business and essentially shape the AI product they are building.


Overview:

We are seeking a Mid-Level DevOps Engineer to join our growing engineering team. This role is ideal for someone with 2–5 years of experience who is looking to further develop their skills in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.


The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting and improving cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and deployment processes, primarily within an AWS ecosystem.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and maintain scalable infrastructure on AWS
  • Build and optimise CI/CD pipelines to support efficient software delivery
  • Collaborate closely with development teams to streamline deployment processes
  • Monitor system performance and ensure high availability and reliability
  • Support infrastructure as code (IaC) practices (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation)
  • Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure and deployment issues
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of DevOps practices and tooling


Required Skills & Experience:


  • 2–5 years’ experience in a DevOps or similar role
  • Strong experience with AWS services (e.g., EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, etc.)
  • Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI)
  • Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation)
  • Experience with containerisation (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) is desirable
  • Solid understanding of Linux systems and scripting (e.g., Bash, Python)
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively


Role Details:

  • Level: Mid-Level (aligned to existing team structure; not suitable for senior candidates)
  • Location: Ideally Bristol-based or willing to be onsite full-time
  • Start Date: ASAP
  • Employment Type: Permanent preferred (contract also considered)


Salary / Day Rate

  • Permanent: £50,000 – £75,000 (range allows for progression)
  • Contract: £400 – £500 per day - outside scope (IR35)


Interview Process

  • Stage 1: Initial high-level conversation
  • Stage 2: Final discussion with senior technical leadership


Additional Notes

  • Immediate availability is highly desirable
  • The role is positioned to support team growth and reports into an existing leadership structure
