Laboratory Chemist – Polyamide Development Location: North East England Contract Type: Permanent Salary: Competitive + Benefits
We’re working with a leading chemical manufacturer based in the North East, currently looking to expand their R&D capability by hiring a Laboratory Chemist to support the development of polyamide resins.
This is a hands-on lab-based role suited to someone with a background in chemistry, polymers, or coatings – someone who enjoys experimenting, analysing data, and making a real contribution to product development.
The Role: Assist with lab-scale synthesis and formulation of polyamide resins
Support new product development and raw material approvals
Conduct application testing and performance evaluation
Interpret lab data and contribute to technical reporting and presentations
Help maintain a safe and compliant lab environment, following internal and external safety standards
What We’re Looking For: BSc in Chemistry or a related discipline
Ideally some experience with polyamide resins, polymers, inks or coatings
Understanding of process and organic chemistry, plus analytical techniques
Strong communication and documentation skills
Proactive, problem-solving mindset with a collaborative approach
Full driving licence preferred due to site location
