We are seeking an experienced Freelance Design Manager to join our team on a high-profile Prison project. The project is a new build young offenders institute with refurbishment and extension elements to it.

Role Overview: As the Design Manager, you will act as the key liaison between the design and site teams. Your primary responsibility will be to coordinate and chase design information from the consultants, ensure timely issue of drawings, and develop practical, buildable solutions with the site and design teams.

Key Responsibilities: Manage and coordinate all design information across disciplines.

Liaise with consultants, subcontractors, and in-house teams to resolve design issues.

Ensure drawings and specifications are issued to site on time.

Assist with design workshops and technical reviews to ensure buildability.

Track and manage design changes, RFIs, and technical submittals.

Work closely with the site team to produce and review working drawings.

Monitor compliance with client and statutory requirements.
