Extensive experience in engineering design within regulated sectors (water, rail, oil and gas, nuclear, highways or bridges) Proven track record managing multidisciplinary design teams and projects Strong background building teams and developing junior staff capability Graduate or HND qualification in engineering Results-focused with strong technical knowledge and communication skills
About the Role This Design Manager - Water Sector contract offers longevity and stability outside IR35 within a positive, well-motivated team. Lead multidisciplinary design delivery on water industry projects, manage engineers, CAD technicians and graduates, and shape formal processes. Key Responsibilities As Design Manager - Water Sector , you will :
Manage, direct and develop engineers, CAD technicians and graduates Lead the design process on multidisciplinary water industry projects Challenge, improve and shape formal processes and procedures for the design team Drive the use of BIM and 3D modelling where necessary Ensure design deliverables satisfy safety and quality requirements within agreed timescales Ensure the team uses appropriate standards, best practice and software tools Assist with estimating hours required for design packages
