Location: M32 0RS, Manchester, Greater Manchester, North West, UKPosition: Design ManagerLocation: Manchester Contract: Contract (outside IR35) or PermanentShape tomorrow's water infrastructure while leading a high-performing, multi-disciplinary design teamPURPOSEManage designers and design delivery across multi-disciplinary teams within the water industry ensuring time and quality expectations.Responsibilities • Manage, direct and develop engineers, CAD technicians and graduates• Grow the design team and maintain a positive ethos and attitude within the team• Lead the design process on multidisciplinary water industry projects• Challenge, improve and shape formal processes and procedures for design team and ensure work is undertaken using them• Identify and implement appropriate software packages, and drive the use of BIM and 3D modelling where necessary• Ensure team produce design deliverables that satisfy safety and quality requirements and are fully integrated• Ensure team produce design deliverables within agreed timescales and hours• Ensure team use appropriate standards, best practice and software tools• Ensure project change for design packages is fully recorded• Assist with estimating hours required for design packages Required Qualifications & Experience 10 years' experience working in the engineering design industry in a regulated sector ideally Water or wastewater projectsGraduate or HNDGood level ITExperience in regulated water industryTrack record managing multidisciplinary design teams and projectsExperience building teams and capability of junior staffDriving licence & access to vehicle Preferred Qualifications & Experience Chartered engineer or working towards chartership Company informationAt First Recruitment Group we understand just how important it is to secure the right people.
