Job Title: Design Engineer\nLocation: Derby\nSalary: £40,000 - £50,000 per annum (flexible depending on experience)\nHours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 4:00pm (3:30pm finish on Fridays)\nType: Permanent, Days Only\n\nWe are looking for an experienced Design Engineer to join our team in Derby. This is a full-time, permanent position with a well-established engineering business that designs and manufactures bespoke machinery for product handling and packaging applications.\nThe role involves using AutoCAD and Autodesk Inventor to design custom-built equipment for major food manufacturers, including handling and packaging systems for biscuits, cookies, and snack foods. Our projects are tailored to meet unique product and space requirements, so a background in bespoke machinery and interior layout design is essential.\n\nKey responsibilities:\n\n* Create detailed 2D and 3D designs using AutoCAD and Autodesk Inventor\n* Design mechanical systems including conveyors and automated machinery\n* Work on bespoke machinery for space-restricted production environments\n* Collaborate with electrical and production teams to ensure functional and practical solutions\n* Take projects from initial concept through to manufacture and installation\n\nKey requirements:\n\n* Proficient in AutoCAD and Autodesk Inventor\n* Strong mechanical design background\n* Must have experience designing bespoke machinery and conveyor systems\n* Experience working with interior layouts or confined space equipment is essential\n* Able to work both independently and as part of a team\n* Understanding of manufacturing processes and materials\n\nWe are open-minded on salary and happy to discuss this based on your experience.\nTo apply or to find out more, please get in touch
