Depot Manager – Power Generation (Generators)

Bristol | ⏰ Full-time | Permanent


We are working with a well-established and growing business within the power generation / generator hire sector, who are now looking to appoint an experienced Depot Manager to lead their operation in Bristol.


This is a fantastic opportunity for a hands-on leader with a strong technical background in diesel generators and power solutions, who can drive performance across the depot, workshop, logistics, and customer service functions.


The Role


As Depot Manager, you’ll take full responsibility for the day-to-day running of the depot, ensuring smooth operations, high standards of service, and efficient delivery of power equipment to customers.


Key responsibilities will include:


  • Managing the overall depot operation including service, maintenance, and dispatch
  • Leading and developing a team of engineers and depot staff
  • Ensuring generators are prepped, tested, serviced and ready for hire
  • Coordinating transport/logistics and delivery schedules
  • Maintaining compliance with H&S, quality standards and company procedures
  • Managing stock, equipment control, and depot organisation
  • Supporting customers with technical queries and operational planning
  • Driving depot performance, productivity, and commercial results


What We’re Looking For


We’re keen to speak with candidates who can demonstrate:

  • Proven experience as a Depot Manager / Workshop Manager / Operations Manager
  • A strong background in power generation / diesel generators
  • Confident technical understanding of:
  • generator servicing & fault finding
  • control panels / load testing
  • diesel engines and associated power systems
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Excellent organisation, planning, and problem-solving ability
  • A proactive and customer-focused approach
