Secure, long-term career path This is ideal for someone whos been: Leading people on the shop floor Mentoring apprentices or junior welders Thinking I want more responsibility but not sales or management fluff The Role (What Youll Actually Be Doing) Youll lead the Fabrication & Welding department, managing instructors while remaining involved in delivery across: Fabrication Welding Pipefitting / Pipe Welding Commercial & apprenticeship programmes Key focus areas: Planning and coordinating training across multiple sites Ensuring high-quality, consistent delivery Supporting instructors with lesson planning and standards Carrying out observations and quality checks Keeping workshops safe, compliant and industry-ready Working with employers to keep training relevant Making sure learners leave work-ready, not just qualified Youll also act as the lead TWI Welding Inspector for commercial training activity. What Theyre Looking For Essential Strong background in fabrication & welding Experience in welding, pipefitting, plating or sheet metal (expertise in one is fine) Level 3 qualification or time-served apprenticeship Teaching qualification ideal (PGCE / DTLLS / Cert Ed) Confident leading people Comfortable with planning, organisation and IT Nice to Have (Fully Funded if You Dont Have Them) Assessor / Verifier qualifications TWI Welding Inspector certification If you need additional qualifications, our client pays for them.
