Solicitor Defendant Insurance Litigation (02 PQE) Overview A leading defendant litigation practice is seeking a newly qualified to 2 years PQE Solicitor to join its growing insurance litigation team in Belfast. The successful candidate will manage a varied caseload of litigated Employers Liability and Public Liability matters within the County Court jurisdiction. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established and supportive team with strong expertise in insurance defence litigation and clear opportunities for career progression. Key Responsibilities Managing a caseload of Employers Liability and Public Liability claims within the County Court jurisdiction Handling litigated matters from instruction through to resolution in line with client requirements Communicating effectively with clients, colleagues and third parties including insurers, insured parties and witnesses Interviewing witnesses and preparing witness statements Drafting pleadings, court applications and other legal documentation Instructing Counsel and attending consultations, conferences and mediations Attending court hearings, settlement conferences and trials where required Proactively identifying next steps within cases and progressing matters efficiently Maintaining accurate case management records and reporting updates where required Ensuring compliance with relevant professional regulations and internal procedures Essential Skills and Experience Qualified Solicitor in Northern Ireland with up to 2 years PQE Litigation experience is desirable, ideally within insurance defence, though this is not essential Strong written and verbal communication skills Good advocacy and negotiation abilities Ability to manage competing deadlines and prioritise workload effectively Strong analytical and research skills High level of attention to detail Proficient IT skills and experience using case management systems Whats on Offer Opportunity to work within an established and growing insurance litigation team Exposure to a varied and interesting caseload Supportive team environment with strong collaboration Clear opportunities for professional development and career progression Hybrid working and flexible working arrangements Competitive salary and benefits package At Pathway, we treat all applications with the highest level of confidentiality and professionalism.
