Purpose of the role To define, direct, and govern the banks target data architecture (including shared data environment, data model, and standards) in support of business strategy, ensuring data accuracy, security, and accessibility to meet stakeholder needs.
Develop the bank's data architecture strategy, translating bank-wide goals into a target data architecture and transition plan.
Collaborate with stakeholders such as data operations, engineers, and analysts to promote standardized, consistent, safe, and valuable data usage.
Develop and maintain data architecture governance, standards, and protection policies regarding data models, authoritative data stores, and data capabilities to support data quality, accuracy, and confidentiality.
Manage project alignment to the target data architecture by providing guidance, data solutions, and progress monitoring.
Define shared reusable data capabilities, assets, tools, and technologies to connect data sources, optimize storage, and enable seamless access.
Oversee the data model that structures data logically and physically within the banks data resources, such as databases, interfaces, and reports.
Monitor regulatory standards and industry trends for potential impacts on operations, controls, and applications.
Identify and assess cutting-edge data technologies, ensuring compliance with service level agreements and quality standards.
Manage a business function, contributing to strategic initiatives, policy development, and overseeing complex projects.
Lead a large team or sub-function, fostering a performance-driven culture, or act as a technical expert and thought leader for organization-wide projects.
Manage resourcing, budgeting, and policy creation for significant sub-functions.
Ensure compliance with policies, regulations, and external environment considerations.
