Job Description This role focuses on designing end-to-end data solutions that align with the organisations technology strategy and roadmap. You will translate business requirements into robust, secure and cost-effective architectures, ensuring that products and features deliver the desired business outcomes. Responsibilities Define detailed end-to-end solution designs for data products and features that support the overall technology strategy and roadmap. Translate requirements produced by business analysts into clear, implementable solution architectures that meet customer needs and expected business outcomes. Engage proactively with stakeholders, platform architects and enterprise architects to inform and validate solution designs. Ensure solution designs remain cost-effective and aligned to strategic objectives throughout the agile development lifecycle. Manage and prioritise the backlog of design activities, ensuring a smooth flow of work into agile delivery teams and individual PODs. Ensure non-functional requirements are consistently defined, articulated and embedded into infrastructure, security and application designs. Identify, manage and escalate architectural risks and issues in a timely manner so that project managers and stakeholders are not surprised by emerging concerns. Apply and adhere to established governance processes, ensuring architectures undergo the appropriate level of assessment at the right stages in the agile process. Essential Skills Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate complex requirements and design appropriate solutions. Proven capability to influence and champion new ideas and technical directions within an organisation. Ability to collaborate effectively with business stakeholders and engineers to ensure solutions adhere to agreed principles and architectural direction. Ability to decompose non-functional requirements into detailed infrastructure and security designs. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to adapt style and level of detail to suit different audiences. Experience taking responsibility for significant architectural decisions and providing clear justification for those decisions. Strong technical and business stakeholder management skills, engaging confidently from developer level to executive management.
