Our OEM Client based in Whitley, Coventry, is searching for a Data Quality & Management Engineer (Test Data) to join their team, Inside IR35. This is a contract position until 31st March 2026.\n\nUmbrella Pay Rate: £28.06 per hour.\n\n Be a part of the team testing the next of electrified propulsion systems for our client’s products. We are at the forefront of development in hybrid and full electric powertrains, aiming to deliver electrifying performance and peerless refinement. \n\nWe are looking for individuals who are excited about our data management and validation and can bring their passion and experience to our growing team. This role will work across Electric machine, Electric Drive Unit (EDU), Inverter, Cell, Battery, Power in loop (PiL) and Vehicle in Loop (ViL) test beds covering. The person in data validation and management role will be responsible to provide timely, accurate, secured and accessible test data for wider engineering group to enable efficient engineering decisions.\n\nData Sources and Data Acquisition.\nData Quality validation.\nData piping.\nData storage.\nData visualisation.\nTo ensure we can develop world class propulsions systems, we need world class test and data management and validation. The specialist role looks to enable this seeking a person with knowledge of different testing environments data management and validation. The role will require you to work cross functionally to deploy a common approach to data piping, data validation tools as well to build a federated data platform.\n\nYou will be the working towards to become the Subject Matter Expert for data management and validation and deliver a training package to develop others in order to improve the data quality produced by the team.\n\nKey Performance Indicators:\n\nProgramme:\n\nFull data availability.\nData accuracy confidence.\nData availability time.\nQuality Performance:\n\nRight First Time (RFT).\nData Quality Target.\nMetrics availability.\nDelivery Performance:\n\nUtilisation and Test Delivery Hours.\nSchedule Performance Index.\nDV Delivery Burndown.\nKey Accountabilities and Responsibilities:\n\nBe responsible in data sources and data acquisition, data quality validation, data pipeline, data storage and data visualisation for physical test environment.\nDelivering data quality reviews in order to support programme targets and prove out chosen technologies.\nDevelop calculations, parameterisation, regulations and process of in-house data tool development.\nBe responsible for confirming the facility is performing in repeatable and reproducible measurements compliant to regulations.\nCarry out correlation exercises between test facilities and test beds across test operation.\nEnsure continuous improvement of measurement quality by reviewing the measurement equipment, systems and methods used by providing data.\nPerform calculation and evaluation of test results, particularly of results from internal correlation measurements, and initiate corrective measures as required.\nCooperate in projects for improving test bed consistency and repeatability (together with experts from internal departments and the Instrumentation & Test Systems business unit).\nWorking closely with the subject matter expert for Data Quality ensuring that the team KPI’s for Data Quality are met.\nRecommend and justify process and other improvements to enable improved quality of data.\nResearch, communicate and implement best practice data quality methods and improve test field efficiency.\nInvestigate best ways of working to make full use of equipment capability in order to improve data quality.\nTo continually encourage a growth mind-set across the team.\nCoaching and facilitating in best technical practice, knowledge, methods in data validation and management for apprentice, new starter and existing team member development.\nUndertake any other work as directed by their line manager in connection with their job as may be requested.\n Key Interactions:\n\nEngineering Operation (EO10) Manager and Lead Engineers.\nStrategic Suppliers and External Facility Providers.\nTechnical Specialists and our client’s data enterprise team.\nEO10 test engineers and automation engineers.\nTeam members reporting to the successful candidate.\nDegree apprentice students.\nEssential Skills Required:\n\nEducated to degree level in a natural science, mathematical or engineering or computing discipline.\nDesigning applications in different programming (preferable Python).\nBuild data systems & pipelines, data validation and management in cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud).\nData analysis skills, including hypothesis testing, uncertainty analysis, and process variation.\nAbility to work closely with engineering stakeholders influence analysis techniques to inform engineering decisions.\nDevelop Key Performance Indicator (KPI) and ability to graphical data presentation.\nTechnical / theoretical understanding of physical measurement equipment.\nAbility to deliver written reports and technical presentations.\nDesirable Skills Required:\n\nAcademic thesis or capstone project in formal field of study.\nSix Sigma Green Belt.\nTechnical knowledge of process, calculation and measurement techniques demanded by both engineering and legislative requirements.\nExperience in measurement science.\n Quantitative understanding of equipment measurement sensitivity.\nEssential Personal Profile:\n\nAbility to work on the delivery of complex tasks and provide suitable documentation and metrics for review.\nAble to work with others to ensure successful outcome of tasks.\nDesire to learn new techniques and understand new technologies.\nAble to provide workable solutions to real problems and to look for issues.\nA focus on balancing quality and time.\nProject reporting and presentation skills.\nDesirable Personal Profile:\n\nSeeking responsibility.\nMethodical and patient approach to working even during times of high pressure.\nDriven and dynamic with a desire to make new working relationships.\nA good communicator both written and verbal
