We now operate tenancy deposit schemes in England and Wales, Scotland, and Northern Ireland from our head office in Hemel Hempstead and our other offices in Glasgow and Belfast. With our proven success, it is necessary to expand our team to ensure the services we offer continue to make a difference.We have a new opportunity within our Technology team to join them as a Data Protection Officer and Privacy Lead.This is a permanent, full-time position that will be based in our TDS office in Hemel Hempstead and will follow our hybrid working policy of a minimum of 2 days in the office per week.The salary for this position is £55,000 per annum.Some of the key responsibilities include:Monitor organisational compliance with UK data protection legislation and internal policies.Ensure alignment with ISO27001 controls and the six-year retention requirements for tenancy and dispute data.Support and help lead the implementation of the Data Governance Framework in line with the Data Governance Charter and Terms of Reference.Coordinate the activities of the Data Governance Committee (DGC), including reporting on data quality, risks, governance compliance and strategic data initiatives.Own, maintain and regularly review data protection policies and Records of Processing Activities (RoPA).Provide authoritative advice on data protection obligations and best practice.Design and deliver annual mandatory data protection refresher training.To be considered for this opportunity you must:Demonstrate strong, up-to-date knowledge of UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, with current experience operating as a Data Protection Officer (DPO).Have demonstrable experience of designing, implementing or operating privacy controls within a regulated or standards-based environment (e.g. ISO27001).Show proven ability to communicate confidently and influence effectively at all levels of the organisation.Have experience delivering engaging training and awareness programmes.Possess hands-on experience of incident triage, investigation and liaison with regulators.Have experience supporting or chairing data governance committees or forums.TDS offers a plethora of benefits inclusive of:33 days holiday inc bank holidaysPension SchemeAdditional day off for your birthdayPlus many more!If you have any questions or would like to find out more information, please feel free to contact me directly.TDS is committed to equality, diversity and inclusion in our workforce and to be truly representative of all sections of society. #J-18808-Ljbffr
