You will manage cross-functional, onshore and offshore teams to deliver customer-focused solutions while maintaining high operational standards.You will be responsible for prioritising delivery across new programmes, managing live data environments, and providing technical guidance to Data Engineers and Principal Data Engineers. This is an exciting opportunity to shape the DataOps function in a fast-paced, evolving organisation and lead both Build & Run activities for critical data platforms.Key ResponsibilitiesBuild - Project Delivery & Data Product DevelopmentLead prioritisation and capacity planning for customer-focused data programmes and products.Collaborate with Principal Data Engineers to size, scope, and deliver scalable data solutions.Oversee development of SQL Server, Amazon Data Lakes, and GCP-based data products.Support engineering teams in delivering data pipelines, transformations, and integrations.Ensure solutions align with customer journeys, claims, and product experiences.Run - Operations & Platform ManagementLine manage the operations team across the UK, South Africa, and India.Oversee live data platforms, ensuring reliability, modernisation, and optimisation.Assess impact of issues, prioritise operational tasks, and maintain platform performance.Provide technical guidance to troubleshoot and resolve complex data and infrastructure challenges.Governance & Stakeholder ManagementCollaborate with Product Executives, IT teams, and stakeholders to ensure data governance, compliance, and security.Track KPIs and provide insights on performance, delivery, and operational efficiency.Promote best practices in data quality, integrity, and process standardisation.Key RequirementsProven experience in data operations, data engineering, or platform management (typically 5+ years).Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams across multiple locations.Strong technical knowledge to challenge and guide senior Data Engineers and Principal Data Engineers.Hands-on experience with SQL Server, Amazon Data Lakes, and familiarity with GCP desirable.Experience in both Build (delivery of new data products) and Run (operation of live environments).Ability to prioritise competing workloads, manage capacity, and make impactful decisions.Knowledge of data governance, compliance, and regulatory frameworks.Excellent communication, relationship management, and stakeholder engagement skills.Familiarity with Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid delivery methodologies.What We OfferCompetitive salary and performance-based bonusFlexible and hybrid working optionsOpportunities for career growth and developmentUp to 12% pension contributionPrivate health insuranceLife assurance (4x salary)Collaborative and inclusive working environmentFree breakfast and lunch in the officesFree parking on siteJBRP1_UKTJ
