Data Engineer | London Hybrid | £70,000–£100,000 + 30–40% Bonus


I’m currently working with a well-established and growing business in the insurance market that is looking to hire a Data Engineer into its London team.


This is a great opportunity for someone with 3+ years of data engineering experience who wants to work on both core data platform engineering and future-facing AI projects, including LLM-related work. The role will suit someone who enjoys building robust data pipelines and modernising data infrastructure, while also being excited by the chance to contribute to emerging AI initiatives.


The role

You’ll play a key part in designing, building and optimising scalable data pipelines and data architecture across a complex business environment. The team is looking for someone who can work across Python, SQL, ETL/ELT processes, Azure-based services and Power BI, while helping to improve data quality, reporting capability and overall accessibility of business-critical data. There will also be exposure to API integrations, cloud migration work, and the chance to support current and future AI use cases across the business.


What they’re looking for

  • 3+ years’ experience in Data Engineering or a closely related role
  • Strong experience with Python and SQL
  • Experience building and maintaining data pipelines
  • Exposure to Azure data services / cloud-based data environments
  • Experience with tools such as Power BI, modern data stack tooling, and version control / CI/CD workflows
  • Insurance or insurance broking experience Data background would be highly beneficial, but is not essential
  • Someone who can engage with non-technical stakeholders and translate business needs into technical solutions
  • Interest in AI projects, including LLMs and AI-assisted tooling


Package

  • £70,000–£100,000 base salary
  • 30–40% bonus
  • Hybrid working
  • 33 days holiday, with the option to buy 5 additional days
  • Excellent pension, double matched by the company up to 10%
