Data Centre Shift Engineer – London – Permanent - £40,000-£45,000

We are working with a European data centre operator that is rapidly expanding its footprint across the continent, focusing onedge computing infrastructurethat brings digital services closer to end-users. This company is building a network ofsustainable, low-latency data centresand currently has projects in Germany, France, the UK, the Netherlands, and Spain.

Responsibilities:

Act as the senior point of contact for on-site operations, ensuring continuity and adherence to processes during shifts.
Oversee daily activities, including equipment maintenance, system checks, and customer support tasks.
Coordinate with teams and contractors to ensure timely task completion and resolve operational issues.
Perform hybrid tasks involving engineering and ITC operations, including monitoring and maintaining critical infrastructure systems (e.g., power, cooling, and network).
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, escalating complex problems when necessary.

Skills & experience:

Strong technical knowledge of data centre infrastructure, including power, cooling, and networking.
Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to address both technical and operational challenges.
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities to manage site operations effectively.
Clear communication skills for coordinating with teams, contractors, and customers.
Ability to work autonomously, taking initiative to ensure operational continuity.
