VIQU have partnered with an organisation seeking a Data Cabling Engineer to support telecoms installations across hospital sites in Birmingham. This Data Cabling Engineer role offers a mix of BAU and project work, ideal for a hands-on individual looking to grow within a stable environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Terminate data outlets and patch panels to a high industry standard
- Test structured cabling systems using a Fluke DTX 5000 tester
- Accurately document installation activities and test results
- Install and configure wireless access points across hospital sites
- Support fibre cabling projects and gain exposure to additional technologies
- Work collaboratively on-site (no lone working)
- Adhere to CSCS/ESC regulations and strict health & safety standards
Key Requirements
- Valid CSCS or ESC card (essential)
- Minimum 3 years experience in data cabling or telecoms
- Proven experience in terminating, installing, and testing structured cabling systems
- Eligible for DBS clearance (processed by employer)
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel between Birmingham sites
- Based in or able to commute to Birmingham
- Reliable, proactive, and trustworthy approach to work
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-based environment
